Last March, Samsung announced a 32GB solid state hard drive. It seems that TDK has followed suit this week by announcing that it has developed the smallest solid state NAND flash memory drive in its class. The drive has roughly the same dimensions of a typical notebook hard drive and can store up to 32GB of data using sixteen 16 gigabit chips. TDK claims that the drive is 20% smaller than 2.5 inch notebook drives and also uses less power. The drive hooks up to a standard IDE interface. Although no official release date or price have been announced, the drives are currently being tested by storage companies. |
