Looks like Microsoft still remembers the time when the first iPods weren’t compatible with Windows. Gizmodo is stating that the Microsoft Zune will not have any Mac compatibility at launch. Their assumption is based on a number of things, namely that the Zune doesn’t support mass storage mode and also because Microsoft still hasn’t created a Mac version of their Zune Marketplace software. We also expect Gizmodo to have plenty of "contacts" for finding out information such as this. For the time being, the Zune will be Windows-only.
Gizmodo has also found out the official pricing of the Zune through one of their moles in Microsoft. The 30GB version will retail at a starting price of $229.99. The initial price was going to be $289.99, however, Microsoft changed that price in light of Apple’s announcements of iPod price drops.
