Windows Vista RC1 made available to the public

Last week Microsoft released Windows Vista RC1 to specific testers only. Today Microsoft has now made RC1 available to everyone who is interested in testing it.

The 32-bit version of the download is 3.7GB and the 64-bit version is 3.7GB. These versions will allow you to test Microsoft Windows Vista free of charge until June 1, 2007.

The requirements for Windows Vista Premium are as follows:

* 1 GHz 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor.

* 1 GB of system memory.

* Support for DirectX 9 graphics with a WDDM driver, 128 MB of graphics memory (minimum), Pixel Shader 2.0 and 32 bits per pixel.

* 40 GB of hard drive capacity with 15 GB free space.

* DVD-ROM Drive.

* Audio output capability.

* Internet access capability.
