Universal Home Entertainment Sides With HD DVD
Gabriel Ikram - 19/09/2006, 02:11
"Things just keeps on getting worse these days for Sony. First the exploding battery debacle, then the PS3 delay and limited availability issues, and now Universal has given their vote of no confidence to Blu-Ray."

Business just isn’t going too well for Sony these days. Last week we were told that Sony was delaying their European launch of the PS3 to summer, and that the U.S. and Japan launches would have extremely limited unit availability. This week, news just doesn’t get any better for Sony. Craig Kornblau, president of Universal Studios Home Entertainment has sided with HD DVD as the “hands down” winner in the next-generation movie formats. Kornblau said that HD DVD has many advantages, including that of price and availability. Korblau said that the general public is leaning more towards HD DVD as the new movie standard and that HD DVD is “the best value for consumers today.”
